--- name: alex-ai-daily description: Fetch Alex's followed AI news, official updates, YouTube videos, and X posts when asked to read ainews.zychang.dev or to fetch Alex's daily AI news. --- # Alex · AI Daily Use this skill to fetch current AI news from Alex's configured sources. The website provides instructions and source links, not a hosted news-fetching API. Perform the research using your own available HTTP, search, or browsing tools. You do not need to install a skill or automate a browser to read these instructions. ## Read the source list Read [sources.md](https://ainews.zychang.dev/sources.md) via ordinary HTTP GET. If this file was obtained from a local preview or another deployment, resolve `sources.md` relative to the URL you used to read this SKILL.md. An installed copy can use its sibling `sources.md`. The list is exported from Alex's AI Daily fetch scripts. Follow its official/news sources, YouTube channel IDs, and X handles. It is a source configuration snapshot, not a claim that Alex has manually read every item or that every endpoint is currently reachable. ## Fetch window and selection - Use Beijing time (UTC+8). Unless the user requests another date, include yesterday's full calendar day and today up to the actual run time. State the exact window in the result. - Check official updates and independent news, then YouTube and X. Prefer RSS feeds and original article pages. The source list includes RSS alternatives where available. - Keep long-form YouTube videos; exclude Shorts. Include relevant AI/product/developer news from X and sort by visible likes when available; label unknown engagement rather than inventing it. - Verify original URLs, publication dates, and the content used for each summary. Deduplicate repeated URLs and group coverage of the same event where helpful. Do not use search snippets alone to imply that full content was read. - For an unreachable feed, try its listed alternative or original site. An empty result is valid only after a successful source check. Record failed or restricted sources in a fetch note; never describe an inaccessible source as having no news. - Public X access may be restricted. Use available public pages or the user's existing authorized tools. If unavailable, report the limitation and continue with verified sources. Alex's account credentials are not supplied; never ask users to send cookies or tokens to this website. - If your environment cannot access the web, explain that limitation. If no sources can be verified, report the failed fetch instead of writing an invented digest. ## Deliver the brief Create a concise digest with two separate sections: 中文版 and English Version. In each, group entries as 官方动态 / Official Updates, 独立新闻 / Independent News, YouTube 精选 / YouTube Picks, and X 热议 / X Top Posts. Each entry needs a title, source, publication date, short grounded summary, and original URL. Translate titles and summaries for the Chinese section. Include verified counts and unavailable sources. Default to Markdown; use another language or format if requested. In Claude Code or another environment with local file access, save to the user's current workspace as `output/daily-brief-YYYY-MM-DD.md`, using the Beijing run date. Follow that environment's file conventions. If only chat output is available, deliver the brief in chat. ## Optional permanent installation Only when the user requests installation, save this SKILL.md and sources.md together in `.claude/skills/alex-ai-daily/` in their current project. Preserve the frontmatter and the source list. Ask before replacing an existing skill of the same name. Do not install silently as a prerequisite to fetching news. For a current source list on later runs, read the website again; if unavailable, disclose that the local list is a snapshot.
